PRIDE - an excessively high opinion of oneself; conceit. (PROUD,ARROGANCE)

1. Proverbs 8:13 (NIV)
To fear the LORD is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech.
2. Proverbs 16:18-19 (NIV)
Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud.
AMP A man’s pride and sense of self-importance will bring him down, But he who has a humble spirit will obtain honor. MSG Pride lands you flat on your face; humility prepares you for honors.
3. Proverbs 29:23 (NIV)
NIV Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor. KJ21 A man’s pride shall bring him low, but honor shall uphold the humble in spirit.
MSG Also at that time, people will say, “Look at what’s happened! This is our God! We waited for him and he showed up and saved us! This God, the one we waited for! Let’s celebrate, sing the joys of his salvation. God’s hand rests on this mountain!” As for the Moabites, they’ll be treated like trash, waste shoveled into a cesspool. Thrash away as they will, like swimmers trying to stay afloat, They’ll sink in the sewage. Their pride will pull them under. Their famous fortifications will crumble to nothing, those mighty walls reduced to dust. AMP And Moab will spread out his hands in the middle of the filth As a swimmer spreads out his hands to swim, But the Lord will humiliate his pride in spite of the [skillful] movements of his hands. CJB They will spread out their hands in Mo’av, like a swimmer using his hands to tread water; but their pride will be humbled and sunk, no matter how clever the strokes of their hands. ERV They will reach out their arms to escape like someone trying to swim. But their pride will sink with each stroke they take. NIRV They will try to swim their way out of it. They will spread out their hands in it, just as swimmers spread out their hands to swim. But God will bring down Moab’s pride. None of their skill will help them.
4. Isaiah 25:11 (NIV)
They will stretch out their hands in it, as swimmers stretch out their hands to swim. God will bring down their pride despite the cleverness of their hands.
