1. 1 Peter 3:15 (ESV)
In your heart honor Christ the Lord as Holy. Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that is in you. But do this with gentleness and respect.
2. Romans 12 1-2 (NIV)
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—let this be your spiritual practice. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to discern God’s will - that which is good, pleasing and perfect.
3. 1 Cor 13:1-3 (NIV)
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give up my body to hardship, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4. I Cor 13:4-7 (NIV)
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
5. 1 Cor 13:18-13 (NIV)
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will cease; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
6. Psalm 6:8-10 (NIV)
Depart from me, all you who do evil, for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping. The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer. All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish; they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.
I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.
7. John 11:25 (NIV)
"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies.'"
8. Phillipians 4: 4-7 (NIV)
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
9. Phillipisns 4: 8-9 (NIV)
Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
10. John 16:33 (NIV)
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
