God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; And the government shall be upon His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
