Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word.

So that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.

For prophesy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

But now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey Him.

If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.

But the prophet who prophesies peace will be recognized as one truly sent by the LORD only if his prediction comes true.

The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
