Why do you call me good

Jesus kind of rebuked the young wealthy ruler who bowed down and called Jesus "Good Teacher". "There is only one that is good!". Yet in another teaching of the talents, Jesus said to 2 out of 3 of his servants: "You are good and faithful".

The two that are called good, they are given the talents, and they go out and do investments, and got same amount of return, and present to their master. The one that got rejected, says I know you are a "hard" man (Matthew 25:24), and Jesus rebuked him and say you are "evil and lazy".

What is your perception of God? Does he give you enough talents to use? People who think they are only receiving the least talents, are the one that is most dangerous. They compare their talents with others and complaint in their heart that they are not valued or good enough to do anything, so their talents are buried.

Good: טוב
word picture, outside, secured, inside

someone who is the same inside and outside.
Not a hypocrite. Do not hide.
God hates the people who only washes the outside (Matthew 23, five times Jesus said Woe to the hypocrites, who only washes outside but never the inside!)

To Trust and Be Trusted

Faithful: Trustworthy. Greek "Pistos", who believes!
You believe in God, then God believe in you.
You can be trusted with talents, gifts, miracles, wealth, relationship.

Graham Cooke prays "God, let me be a man that you can really trust".
This might be the hardest prayer. In your time of hardship, do you still believe that He is GOOD?
1. Matthew 25:14-19 (NKJV)
“For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

Repent of our unbelief

How do you manage your time?
How do you manage your money?
Entertainment, relationship, do you serve the people who are younger or needier than you are?
Your talents.
what's the special gifts that God gave you? Nothing? be careful, you might be comparing yourself with others and have grumbling and complaints in your heart. You are treading in danger zones.

Repent of our wrong perception of Him

Come to the Father and say Father, I want to reflect your goodness as I live on the earth. Let me be a man that you can trust. All the talents that you gave me I will treasure and will not hide away or wasted! You are a good God! No matter what my circumstances are, I will say: You are good, All the time!
2. Matthew 25:20-23 (NKJV)
“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ He also who had received two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.’ His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
3. Matthew 25:24-25 (NKJV)

4. Matthew 25:26-28 (NKJV)
“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.

Five Times Jesus says Woe to the scribed and the Pharisees and call them hypocrites.

Especially in Matthew 23:25 he said they only cleans the outside and dirty inside. They are self-indulgent.

A hypocrite is someone who wear a mask, as an actor. A hypocrite is someone who present himself to the world as someone else. He is not real. God hates hypocrite. God wants us to be real, inside out.

5. Matthew 25:29-30 (NKJV)
‘For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
6. Matthew 23:13 (NKJV)
“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither go in yourselves, nor do you allow those who are entering to go in.
7. Matthew 23:14 (NKJV)
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. Therefore you will receive greater condemnation.
8. Matthew 23:15 (NKJV)
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.
9. Matthew 23:23 (NKJV)
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone.
10. Matthew 23:25 (NKJV)
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence.
